Every year, an esteemed group of LGBT leaders address attendees of the International Gay & Lesbian Leadership Conference. Last year, Reps. Tammy Baldwin and Barney Frank gave keynote speeches, in addition to openly gay former ambassador James Hormel.
In addition, members of the national network of LGBT elected officials and community leaders participate in workshops and panels to help participants become more effective in their capacities as role models and public servants. At the 2007 conference in Las Vegas, high-ranking elected officials like Missouri State Sen. Jolie Justus and Oklahoma State Rep. Al McAffrey served on panels. Other speakers included Pam Spaulding, editor of Pam’s House Blend; Hilary Rosen, president of OurChart.com; and Bill Smith, national political director of Gill Action Fund.
The hilarious Kate Clinton returns as our official conference emcee.
After seven years of comedy coasting, join Kate Clinton as she kicks the Bushies off her payroll and gets back to work! No more easy laughs. Stolen elections, pet goats, wrong countries invaded, mangled language, sexual hypocrisy, buckshot lunches, gay wedgies. All bad for us, but good for her. She got you through the hard years. Come see if she's still got her comic chops. She's rested and ready to roll. Campaigns. Elections. The gender card. New administration. Clean-up on Aisle 5. Green zones. Carbon footprints. Guest workers. Gay lifestyles. Gay zones. The transgender card. The race card. She's a card. They don't call her Hilarity Clinton for nothing.
