The newspaper backs Shade over incumbent Jennifer Kim, stating that Shade "has experience running a business, impressive credentials and readiness to tackle the tough challenges facing Austin."


Kevin Lee advances in race for state legislature

Lee defeated his Democratic primary opponent by a margin of 58 percent to 42 percent. If he wins the competitive general election, he would become the state's only openly gay legislator.
