Scott McCoy fights for gay youth rights

Despite cries of 'foul' from many state lawmakers and activists, Utah Gov. John Huntsman Jr. has just signed a school clubs law, which gives school districts unprecedented control over extracurricular activities.  Though its supporters claim that no bias exists against gay-straight alliances (GSAs), a provision which "specifically bans any discussion by any club of 'human sexuality,'" is an obvious indication of the contrary.

Utah State Senator Scott McCoy is speaking out against the bill and standing up for the rights of young gay Americans to engage in healthy conversation with their fellow students.  He has voiced his criticism of the bill and against those claiming that there is no bias against homosexuals, saying "[t]his is all about gay-straight alliance clubs, and anybody who tells you different is lying."
