Oregon DP bill to become law

The Oregon Senate has passed domestic partnership legislation that will grant certain marriage-like rights to same sex couples in the state.  Openly bisexual State Sen. Katherine Brown told the Oregon Statesman-Journal the bill was a "giant step forward for gay and lesbian citizens in Oregon." 

Rep. Tina Kotek, an openly lesbian legislator who championed the bill in the House, said, "Now we can just get on with our lives."  Oregon's governor has vowed to sign the measure.  Read more in the Statesman-Journal .
